Ciara Daykin is the owner and CEO of Firefly Occasions Inc., a wedding and event planning company based in Calgary, Alberta. Ciara holds a B.A. in Communications and Culture with a major in Leisure in Tourism from the University of Calgary and a Latin American Studies Diploma from the Collegio de Jallisco in Guadalajara, Mexico. She held various positions specializing in management, sales, marketing strategy, event planning, and business operations before starting her own company in 2004. One such position was at the Canadian Academy of Recording Sciences which is the organization that plans and executes the Canadian Juno Awards.

Ciara has immersed herself in the world of online marketing. She recognized that her business growth would depend on utilizing the tools of Web 2.0 such as ezines, blogs, video and social networking. Ciara is an expert in online marketing having coached one on one with internet marketing guru and founder of Ali Magazine, Alexandria Brown for the past 2 years. Ciara grew her business to 6 figures in just 3 years and now coaches other wedding planners internationally through her program Rockstar Wedding Planner. Ciara’s ezine (online newsletter) for brides via her wedding planning company, Firefly Occasions, has attracted a list of 10,000 individuals. As brides get married they may leave Ciara’s list so her marketing efforts are perfected to attract new brides onto her list to insure that the subscribership remains in the 10,000 range. Over 3,500 wedding planners internationally read her bi-weekly ezine, which discusses her marketing strategies and coaching programs for event professionals. She is a highly sought after speaker in her industry, has had her articles and weddings published in books, magazines and online, and is a well-known social networking personality with a large following. Ciara has been a key note speaker at the Wedding Planner’s Institute of Canada’s Annual Conference as well as the Association of Bridal Consultants Annual Conference.

Ciara continues to plan events and has recently opened up a division, Daykin Productions to plan entrepreneurial events for heart centered entrepreneurs. Ciara is also the author of “Ciara Daykin’s Do It Yourself Wedding Planning System.” She is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and has earned the designation of Professional Bridal Consultant™. She has been nominated for Business In Calgary Magazine Leaders of Tomorrow Award as well as the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She is the winner of the 2008 Canadian Wedding Industry Award for Best Ceremony Decor in all of Canada.
