I was training my 2 new little bichon shih tzu puppies

went into my corporate job and I quit! Seriously...
just like that, I quit! They thought I was crazy. "What
are you going to do now?" Are you ready for my answer?
"I'm
going to go into selling real estate so that I can make
big money and be able to grow my wedding planning business.
And I'll do all of this from home."
Looking back I now think... oh
girl, you had SERIOUS problems. What I soon discovered
is that real estate was NOT my thing despite coming
from a long line of family realtors. It did NOT give
me more time or money to grow my wedding planning business.
In fact, my business was getting less of my attention
than ever before. Now my tears were over having no
income and not 1, but 2 floundering businesses.
So tail between my legs, I went back
to my corporate job and asked for my job back (believe
me... they didn't look surprised). And so there I was...
back working for "the man."
AHHHH!!! Even thinking about it makes
me feel sick. My thinking was sooo backwards!
AND, the worst part... I didn't quit
real estate right away... I listed a house, I was planning
5 weddings, AND I had my corporate job. Talk about exhaustion!!
It was absolutely the craziest
time of my life. I was worn out, beat down, depressed,
gaining weight from my on the run fast food meals, and
I didn't know how to get help. It was like I was watching
this crazy woman (who was me) trying to be everything
to everyone and she was being utterly useless but
I didn't know how to stop her.
So one day, I'm sitting at my desk
and an email for a sales and marketing bootcamp comes
into my inbox and I think.... I have to do this.
I have to get help from somewhere.
I went to the bootcamp and there I
met a mentor who opened my eyes to a world of fabulous
possibilities. And the first thing she said to me was...
"Ciara, you're not an expert in anything.
You're spreading yourself so thin, how can you be?"
Well of course that was the truth
but it didn't stop my heart from sinking into my stomach...
meanwhile my cell phone is vibrating like crazy with
other realtors wanting to show my listing, my brides
calling asking where the information I promised was,
and my job calling to see where a certain file was.
At that moment I turned off my cell
phone and my heart said to my head... "This HAS to STOP."
And it did... a peace came over me
I'd never experienced before. I left that bootcamp knowing
that I had to find a different path to reach
my dream career, MY DREAM LIFE
The
Path Began To Show Itself
The sales and marketing bootcamp I
attended really showed me that despite having a university
degree in Communications I really didn't know anything
about marketing and sales. Especially, online sales.
My quest began. I realized that if
I wanted to be THE wedding planner I knew that I could
be then I was going to have to invest the time, money
and energy to clear the path to my dream life.
I had to get smarter about how I
was going to run my business.

I stopped doing real estate- I
