I wanted to quickly wish you Happy Valentine’s Day today before I head out with my husband Simon to celebrate. We have a lot to celebrate this year. With a new baby on the way we’re not only celebrating our growing family but also….

• Entering into our 6th year in business and hitting six figures in that wedding planning business for the last 3 years in a row
• Both working in the business full time
• Having the opportunity to travel the world to learn about new, cool wedding ideas and meeting industry greats
• Working with so many fabulous couples around North America planning and designing their weddings (including winning an award last year for Best Ceremony Décor in all of Canada)
• A growing team of talented planners and support staff who make it possible for us to enjoy a balanced life and a successful business

But I can honestly say that this would never have happened for Simon and I without me approaching him and telling him what exactly it meant to me to have my own wedding planning business.

When I started on the path of taking my company from hobby to business and later to empire I knew I needed his support. I had an honest conversation with my husband and told him how much this meant to me. And his reaction was amazing. Not only did he support me growing my business but we also created a plan for how, when the time was right, he would join me full time. But this meant a leap of faith for both of us and it meant we had to invest in this business with our time and our money.

But we embarked on this journey together and Simon ended up coming with me to a training seminar like Rockstar Wedding Planner LIVE. We both saw what making critical sales and marketing changes in our company could do for our business and we chose to make those changes together.

That was the path that we chose and we know that we would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
