Is Your Wedding Planning Business Having A Bad Hair Day?
I woke up the other day, did my normal routine but when it came to my hair… it just wasn’t doing it for me. You know that feeling, you put in effort but it still isn’t working for you or doing what you want. You get frustrated, toss your hair into a ponytail and avoid mirrors all day.
It got me thinking, businesses have bad hair days too but they can be a lot more devastating to our moral than having to wear a baseball cap all day.
What’s A Business Bad Hair Day?
You might be wondering what I’m talking about when I say that your business is having a bad hair day. It’s one of those days where it just seems like things aren’t working out in your favor, or you don’t feel motivated, just all together put off about your business.
Those aren’t the best days to be creative. And you know what, we all have them. Even me. Let me share some tips with you on how to get out of your funk when you’re having a business bad hair day:
That sounds kinda hard doesn’t it?
- Instead of Surfing Blogs- So you’re not really motivated and you sit at your computer reading about celebrity gossip and hitting send/ receive every 10 seconds. Well instead go into your email and read some of the old ezine articles that I sent you. It might give you a new idea or inspiration that you didn’t get the first time.
- Instead of Watching Soaps- You’re feeling blah and you just feel like sitting in front of the TV in your housecoat and watching John and Marlena get married on Days for like the 15th time. What you should do instead is get out and go to your local bookstore. Pick up a book like “The Purple Cow” by Seth Godin and expand your mind with a little bit of new stimuli that will actually help your business.
- Instead of Getting Frustrated- If things aren’t happening the way you want them to and you’re getting more and more frustrated, it’s not helping your business or your mindset.Get out, go for a walk, swing on a swing you pass by as high as you can go- have fun. I love turning on fun music and dancing and singing to my puppies… it always makes me laugh at how silly I’m being. And sometimes that’s exactly what I need- a good laugh (right now on my ipod stereo is Jessica Simpson’s new album, Do You Know. I love the song “Pray Out Loud”)
Ciara’s Rockstar Advice
When you’re having a business bad hair day you need to give yourself a good shake and make lemonade out of the lemons life is handing you. These kinds of days are usually an indication that you’re working from a place of desperation and that you’re burning yourself out. That’s not going to get you anything but a headache. Take a step back, shake your bootie and relax a bit. When you look back at whatever is happening (or the lack of what is happening) you’ll have a much better perspective from a positive, inspired mindset.
